Wael N. Chehab

Mr. Wael Chehab has 16 years of experience as trader, asset manager and international consultant. He is founder and CEO of the New York based Cedar Capital group of companies which specialize in two lines of business: Asset Management and Commodities Trading. Wael Established Cedar Capital in 1996 which grew to become a premier funds management and advisory firm with total assets under direct management and advisory of 4 billion USD, in the alternative investments field. In commodities trading, Cedar trades a range of Oil and Petroleum products, agricultural commodities and metals, including futures and options. Cedar Capital is registered as Commodity Trading Advisor and Commodity Pool operator with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and is a member of the National Futures Association. Wael is a consultant to international clients both institutional and individual and is a board member of a number of funds and investment vehicles. Wael was Associate director with Bear Stearns & Co. in the fixed income derivatives department before establishing Cedar Capital in 1996. Prior to that, Wael was vice president of global debt derivatives with Citibank NA in New York. Wael has joined the Global Compact initiative of the UN Secretary General to promote proper corporate governance, human rights, fair hiring practices and corporate social responsibility. He is a member of the Foreign Policy Association, the Middle East Institute and is a board member of the Arab Bankers Association of North America. He is also a board member, treasurer and  national fundraising chair of the AUB Alumni Association of North America.

Wael has an MBA from the American University of Beirut with an undergraduate degree in civil engineering.
