Robert S. Karam Mr. Karam and his son, Stephen, are Principals and co-founders of Meridien Karam LLC, located in his hometown of Fall River, MA, as well as Boston, MA and Providence, RI. He also owns and operates, with his brother, James; two radio stations, WSAR 1480 AM and WHTB 1400 AM, located in the South Coast of Massachusetts. Bob Karam also develops industrial and residential real estate. Mr. Karam received his B.A. degree in Business Administration from UMass Dartmouth in 1967, and is a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and a Registered Employee Benefit Consultant (REBC). Bob has devoted much of his time serving his community and is former Chairman, Board of Trustees, University of Massachusetts and Chairman, Board of Trustees of UMass Memorial Health Care, Worcester, MA. Mr. Karam has also served as a former member and past Chairman, Board of Trustees, Southeastern Massachusetts University and is President of Holy Spirit University Foundation, Kaslik, Lebanon. He is a recipient of numerous awards for his community service such as the New Bedford Chamber of Commerce Regional Leadership Award; Honorary Degree Recipient, UMass Doctor of Humane Letter; and the Greater Fall River Area Chamber of Commerce, Outstanding Citizen Award. Mr. Karam is the husband of Susan (Hutchinson) Karam and the father of two children, Stephen Karam and Melissa Panchley and five-times a grandfather to Julia, Justin and John Karam, as well as Thomas & Christopher Panchley. |
